City of Columbus Public Safety Family Fun Day

The City of Columbus Public Safety Family Fun Day will be held on Monday, August 11th from 4:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. at Donner Park.  Columbus Mayor, Kristen Brown will be in attendance along with Columbus Fire Chief Dave Allmon and Columbus Chief of Police Jon Rohde.  During this three hour event, attendees will be able to see public safety demonstrations from representatives of the CPD SWAT Team, Bomb Squad, and K-9 divisions.  Those in attendance will also get the opportunity to interact with firefighters, go for a ride on “Tilly,” the miniature fire engine, visit the “Survive Alive” safety trailer and see CFD Fire Engine #1.  Safe Kids of Bartholomew County will be hosting a Vehicle Hypothermia Awareness demonstration.  Donner Pool will be open during the event at no charge for swimming.  CALEA accreditation assessors will also be present to speak to those in attendance as a part of CPD’s ongoing accreditation process.  The public is encouraged to attend this event for all ages.
