Mayor Kristen Brown encourages fellow motorcyclists and community members to join her in benefiting the Columbus Firemen’s Cheer Fund on Saturday, August 16th at the Mayor’s Motorcycle Ride.
The Mayor’s Ride, led by Mayor Brown, returns for its third year to raise money for the Cheer Fund, a local nonprofit organization run by Columbus Firefighters and community members to provide gifts for local children during the Christmas season.
Registration for the Mayor’s Ride will be from 8:00 to 9:45 a.m. August 16th outside City Hall, with the ride starting at 10:00 a.m. The ride is sanctioned by the local chapter of the American Bikers Aimed Toward Education (ABATE), a national organization focused on motorcycle awareness and safety.
The route for this year's ride will travel a northeastern route from Columbus City Hall along some of the most scenic roads in central Indiana. The 100-mile ride will have a halfway stop at the Rushville Fire Station before returning back to Columbus.
The cost is $20 for solo riders and $30 for riders with passengers. Proceeds benefit the Columbus Firemen’s Cheer Fund, part of the Christmas Assistance program overseen by First Call for Help.
