Columbus Parks & Recreation Department To Partner with Google Maps

Columbus Parks and Recreation Department To Partner with Google Maps

Columbus Parks & Recreation Department
is happy to announce their partnership with Google Maps. As part of this partnership, the Department will be collecting imagery of local trails and pathways. Indiana Park and Recreation Association (IPRA) is borrowing Trekker camera equipment and sharing it with parks in Indiana to hike around unique and amazing locations.  The images will be submitted for processing and future inclusion as panoramic images that everyone can see and enjoy on Street View in Google Maps.

Stay tuned for announcements from Google and Indiana Park and Recreation Association as we launch this exciting program.  For more information and to view images previously taken with Google Trekker, visit https://www.google.com/maps/about/treks/#/grid.  You can also follow Columbus Parks and Recreation Department and IPRA on Twitter @ColumbusINParks and @INParkandRec to see where images are being collected next using #indianagoogletrekker.
