Chapter 10.28 STOPPING, STANDING AND PARKING
Section 10.28.390 Violations--Penalties.
A. Whoever violates any provision of
this chapter shall be fined in the following manner,
unless otherwise designated:
1. If such violator appears at the place
designated in the notice of violation after seventy-two
hours of the time marked on such notice, such violator shall pay an additional five dollars as a late
penalty, and such payment shall not eliminate or replace the parking fine owed.
2. If such violator fails to appear at
the place designated in the notice of violation within
seventy-two hours of the time marked on such notice, such violator may be summoned to appear
before the court of competent jurisdiction
at which time a fine not less than five dollars nor more than three hundred dollars
may be levied. In
addition to any such fine, the violator shall pay fourteen dollars as court costs, four dollars of
which shall be the city attorney's fee for prosecuting such action.
B. In computing any period of time prescribed
by this section, the following days shall not be
included:
1. A Saturday;
2. A Sunday;
3. A legal holiday, as defined by state
statute;
4. A day when the office in which
the act is to be done is closed during regular business hours.
