The thoroughfares within the city and jurisdictional area are classified as to width and type in accordance with their function as a part of the thoroughfare system, and are designated as expressway, primary arterial, secondary arterial, collector, internal commercial access and local streets. With the exception of local streets, such thoroughfares are specifically noted on the thoroughfare plan map. Minimum right-of-way widths set forth in Exhibit B shall be reserved and street improvements shall be made, as required in Section 12.08.090, and required by the city ordinance providing for the control of the subdivision of land. Street cross-sections deviating from those set out in Exhibit B must be approved by the city board of public works and safety and conform with the standards set forth in the ordinance providing for the control of the subdivision of land.
