Whenever any construction is being accomplished contrary to the provisions of this building code, the department may order the work stopped by written notice being served upon any person engaged in the accomplishment of such construction activity. The construction activity so affected shall be stopped forthwith and until such future time as authorization is granted by the department. (Prior code § 5-20)
