The clerk-treasurer is authorized, pursuant to Indiana Code 36-4-11-4, to appoint one deputy clerk-treasurer to be paid solely from funds appropriated for the office of the clerk-treasurer. Such deputy shall work under the exclusive direction of the clerk-treasurer, and shall serve at the pleasure of the clerk-treasurer. (Prior code § 2-4 (d))
