A.    The chief code enforcement officer shall be appointed by the mayor. His appointment shall continue during good behavior and service and he shall not be removed from office except for cause established after full opportunity has been given him to be heard on specific charges.

    B.    The chief code enforcement officer shall be accountable and responsible to the mayor. (Prior code § 5-27)
