A local man is custody on multiple charges including possession of methamphetamine after a vehicle pursuit on Monday night.  At approximately 11:15 p.m., Officer Paul Garnett attempted to stop a Mercury passenger car in the 1600 block of Franklin Street after noting the vehicle did not have a license plate.  The driver of the vehicle, later identified as Jose Garcia Rodriguez, 26, refused to pull over and a pursuit ensued.  The pursuit continued out of the city and into Bartholomew County where Rodriguez drove into a farm field in an effort to evade officers.  Rodriguez’s vehicle became disabled when he drove across a second farm field in the 3400 block of South County Road 250 East.  Rodriguez exited the vehicle and reached towards his waist as he began fleeing on foot.  Officer Branch Schrader and his canine partner, Argo, apprehended Rodriguez moments later ending the 25 minute pursuit.  A small bag of methamphetamine was located inside Rodriguez’s vehicle. Rodriguez was transported to Columbus Regional Hospital for treatment of dog bites to his legs and later remanded to the custody of the Bartholomew County Jail on the following preliminary charges:
