Parking Enforcement

The Parking Division is staffed with one full time and one part time employee and supplemented by volunteers. The three hour parking areas downtown are monitored along with yellow curbs, fire lanes and physically Handicap spaces around the city.

Parking ticket payments can be mailed in the ticket envelope provided. The address is already on it. Just attach a stamp and enclose your payment. They can also be paid at the Columbus Police Department Monday through Friday (excluding holidays) from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. There is also a yellow drop box available along 4th Street just east of Washington St. next to Max’s Jewelry. The box is checked on a regular basis. Payments accepted are: Checks, Cash, Money Order.

Online payment options will be available soon.

School Crossing Guards

School Crossing Guards assist in getting elementary children in non-bussed areas across busy intersections near their school. We have sixteen locations manned by nineteen crossing guards on each school day.

Please click on the link to view the current Crossing Locations and Times along with Parent Tips information that each parent should cover with their children. We work closely with Healthy Communities and the Bartholomew Consolidated School Corporation to provide our children with safe intersections to walk and bike to school.
