Mill Race Center

The Mill Race Center is a 24,000 square foot senior center located in the north east corner of Mill Race Park. Senior Center Services of Bartholomew County has partnered with many organizations in hopes of developing a state of the art facility. Some of these partners include the City of Columbus, the Hospital, Just Friends, Senior Products, Ivy Tech, IUPUC and others. The site for Mill Race Center was established when the roundabout was constructed and Indianapolis Road was removed. The total project budget for the Mill Race Center is $7,860,000. The Mill Race Center Design Team consists of the Design Architect - William Rawn and Associates from Boston, the Executive Architect - RATIO Architects from Indianapolis, and the Construction Manage r-Taylor Brothers Construction from Columbus.
In coordination with the Mill Race Center, a new ColumBUS bus transfer location will be constructed between the Mill Race Center and the railroad tracks. The total project budget for the Bus Transfer Station is $888,816 which will be funded through the federal stimulus package. The Bus Transfer Design Team consists of the Design Architect - William Burd from Columbus, the Executive Architect - RATIO Architects from Indianapolis, and the Construction Manager - Taylor Brothers Construction from Columbus.
