The Columbus Human Rights Commission invites the public to hear Mr. Tom Linebarger on Wednesday, April 9, 2014 at the Commission’s Annual Dinner Meeting to be held at The Commons, 300 Washington Street at 6:30 p.m.
Mr. Linebarger is Chairman and CEO of Cummins Inc., the largest independent maker of diesel engines and related products in the world. Mr. Linebarger served in several positions such as President and COO and Executive Vice President and President, Power Generation prior to becoming Chairman and CEO. Mr. Linebarger obtained his BS in Mechanical Engineering from Stanford University and his MBA from the Stanford Graduate School of Business.
Cummins has been ranked in the Top 20 companies for DiversityInc for its supplier-diversity results and metrics and for its overall diversity-management leadership with more than 100 resource-group chapters nationwide. DiversityInc cites Cummins for its CEO involvement in its executive diversity council.
Mr. Linebarger was quoted by DiversityInc: “You can’t truly be a successful global company if you don’t value and manage diversity. In addition to Mr. Linebarger’s keynote address, the 2014 William R. Laws Human Rights Award recipient, and the winners of the 2014 Benjamin M. King Essay Contest and the J.I. Miller Art Contest will be honored at the dinner.
Admission to the dinner is by ticket purchase. Tickets for the dinner can be purchased by sending a check for $30.00 per person to the Human Rights Commission, City Hall, 123 Washington Street, Columbus, IN 47201, or tickets can also be purchased in person at the Commission office. Tables of 8 may also be purchased. Deadline for purchasing tickets is Thursday April 3, 2014, at 5:00 p.m.
