Many businesses across the country have recognized the benefits of making it easier for their employees and customers to bike to their place of business. According to the League of American Bicyclists, encouraging and supporting bicycle commuting at the workplace can help attract and retain talent, increase employee morale, enhance employee health, and foster a sense of camaraderie in the workplace.
In order to recognize businesses that promote and support bicycling to and from the workplace, the League of American Bicyclists has developed the Bicycle Friendly Business Program. This program celebrates the efforts of businesses and provides feedback to help those businesses become even more bicycle-friendly.
Businesses in Columbus are encouraged to support bicycle commuting and to apply for Bicycle Friendly Business status. To learn more about this program and to apply, visit the League of American Bicyclists at www.bikeleague.org/business.
The Bicycle Friendly Business Program is a companion to the League’s Bicycle Friendly Community Program, which recently awarded the City of Columbus with a bronze-level Bicycle Friendly Community designation for 2020-2024.
