2024 Housing Study
The purpose of the Housing Study and Needs Assessment is to identifu needs for adequate, safe and affordable housing in the community and to outline strategies so all Columbus residents have a choice in housing type and location, regardless of income. The housing study explores. evaluates, and identifies strategies to address housing issues in Columbus by combining community conversations and analyzing the demographic and market trends.
2023 Riverfront Economic Benefit Analysis
The Columbus Redevelopment Commission is leading an initiative to improve the appearance, recreational function, environmental quality, and economic benefit of the East Fork of the White River between the 2nd and 3rd Street bridges. The vision is to enhance connectivity and access to and along the river, improve safety features, and improve quality of life for residents of Columbus.
2022 Conference Hotel Study
The Columbus Redevelopment Commission sought to update a prior market and financial feasibility study to evaluate the needs and benefits of a potential conference center hotel in downtown Columbus. A SWOT analysis and market study were conducted, alongside site recommendations and financial projections.
2022 Infill Site Profiles and Strategic Growth Study
The Planning Department conducted a study in 2022 to evaluate the City’s Infill plan for development in line with the City’s Comprehensive Plan for strategic growth. This document is intended to showcase the successful development of the original Infill Site Profiles. These updates reveal the number of dwelling units, the amount of commercial square footage, and the increase in assessed value for each property. Anyone seeking additional information about the zoning regulations, comprehensive plan policies, or other characteristics or regulations affecting the development of these properties should contact the Planning Department.
2019 Reimagining Our Riverfront Project Update
This project update includes an overview of design drivers, potential project scheduling, permit coordination and changes, and overall riverfront design. The design drivers for the project include safety, maintenance, economic development, ecology, and connections.
2018 Envision Columbus Study
An extraordinary downtown positively informs not only the core but exponentially increases all that is good in the surrounding neighborhoods and beyond. It is the center of gravity around which excellence orbits. The plan describes development opportunities that will preserve and enhance the best aspects of Columbus while introducing a means for achieving a more vibrant, active, sustainable, and creative downtown. Many of the strategies are fundamental to excellence in urban living, and are applicable at a range of scales and locations.
